MY SISTER AND I GREW UP ON THIS FARM WHICH BELONGED TO OUR GRANDPARENTS HAROLD AND LUCY JONES. OUR PARENTS BOB AND MARILYN SMITH WERE IN PARTNERSHIP WITH MY GRANDPARENTS. THE ADDRESS WAS RUAL ROUTE #1 MAPLE PARK , ILLINOIS. WE HAD A SYCAMORE PHONE NUMBER 815-756-7878 AND WE WENT TO THE DEKALB SCHOOL DISTRICT. WE MOVED OFF THE FARM IN MARCH OF 1971. MY SISTER WAS BORN ON NOVEMBER 2ND, 1955 AND I WAS BORN NOVEMBER 4, 1953. MY SISTER NAME IS CATHY S SMITH AND I'M ROBERT C. SMITH. WE BOTH BELONGED TO LOVELL LUCK 4-H CLUB. CATHY WENT TO THE STATE FAIR TWO YEARS FOR SEWING AND TWO YEARS IN FOODS. WE RAISED CATTLE, HOGS AND CHICKENS WITH A GRAIN FARM ( CORN, SOYBEANS, HAY, OATS AND WHEAT. THE HOUSE WAS BUILT BEFORE 1890 WITH A ROOT CELLAR. BOB'S BEDROOM HAD HONEY BEES IN THE WALL. OUR GRAND PARENTS MOVED TO THIS FARM IN 1930 AFTER THEY LOST THIER FARM DURING THE GREAT DEPRESSION. MY MOTHER'S TWO SISTERS WERE SHIRLEY AND JOYCE JONES.
