Tally Ho Restaurant. Route 64 east of County Farm Road, West Chicago, IL

From a Tally Ho matchbook:
"Route 64 North Ave 1-1/2 Miles West of Wheaton, Ill.)"
"Just 20 Miles West of Chicago"
"Eight Miles East of St Charles"
"On Hiway 64"

Was this on the North or South side of 64 and is the building still standing by chance? -Katie

My uncle Roy Vickers managed the Tally Ho for several years until his death. Would like to learn more about the property since his passing in 1972. - Renee

The Tally Ho is (was) at 27W103 North Ave in West Chicago. (I remember that because my address in the 70s was 27W704 Sycamore St in WC.) It's on the south side, a little east of County Farm road.
I worked there in the summers of 76, 77 (two brothers, last name Brooks, were the owners), and 81 (Tom Markos was the owner - during that recession - ack!) as a dishwasher & busboy. Another Google result says "Formerly known as Premiere Lounge". I think it has been pretty deserted and for sale for a long time.

Lived across the street from there at the gun range

I don't remember a gun range, but there was an old (1920s?) motor inn across the road (North Ave) and a couple hundred yards east. Right around there was the Cock & Bull Pub (more dark-wood interiors like the Tally Ho where I had my first job as a busboy for $1/hour plus part of the tips... 1975 IIRC.

My father, Ray Robert’s, was the original owner/creator of the Tally-Ho Inn in 1936. My family owned it until 1973.

Aerial images show the buildings came down between 2014 and 2015.

I believe part of the building is still there. The back of it is a storage area. looks a bit like a junk yard back there now.

I worked at Litvins restaurant , which was in the old Talley Ho in West Chicago in 1982 -83..It was owned by John Litvin, who also had a restaurant in West Chester( I believe)under another name. Great menu ,sad when it closed

There was a sports bar (the name escapes me) in this location in the early 90s, I remember going with my parents to watch the Bulls win one of their championships (maybe spring 1992 or 1993). It closed some time in the late 90s? and the buildings sat vacant and surrounded by a junk yard for many years before being torn down.
