This farm was began by my Great Great Grandfather Gustave Kortge. It was located approximately 3 miles northeast of West Salem, Illinois in Edwards County. The home was built in 1893. The large horse barn was built in 1897. The cattle barn was built in 1927. The farm was later passed down to my Great Grandfather Albert Kortge and finally to my Grandfather Kenneth Kortge.
