View looks south down North 8th Street, from U. S. Route 140/Illinois State Route 185, Vandalia, Illinois. Sometime between 2009 and 2013 Jay's Barn Restaurant was torn down, along with the building next door, to the east. Sometime prior to 2009, the building with the neon 'BREAKFAST' sign was torn down. It appears the remaining buildings, of the motel, still stand.
