My grandparents (Vern Savill) owned this farm until about 1994. These buildings no longer exist. My family lived there from 1970 to 1980.

On the barn on the left side of the picture, I see a pole or maybe a ladder going up the middle of the barn, what was that used for?

That was a corn crib. That's the machinery used to fill the crib with corn.
