Photo looks north at the recently (at the time) rebuilt Deep Rock service station in Astoria, which was destroyed by a fire. To the left is a long building which was the Hi-Way Motel. It consisted of two or three prefab structures built like a mobile home and set in place. At the bottom of the photo, which is the south side of Route 24, is a building that is now part of Hamblin's Gas and Snacks convenience store and gas station.
