The farm was established in 1870 by our ancestor James Patterson & his wife Elizabeth Marshall Patterson. Ownership was transferred to their daughter Alice & her husband Benjamin Pittman in 1884 & in 1938 to their daughter Norma & her husband Earl Bridson Runyon. Earl died in 1951 & Norma managed the farm until their only grandchild Donald Runyon returned from the Army in late 1952 & set up his home on the farm with his wife Rosemary Connell Runyon. They raised eight children there & after Don's death in 1981, Rosemary managed the farm. After Rosemary's death in 2001, it has continued to be managed by their children as part of the Runyon Family Trust.
