I believe this farm is on the south side of Cuba Road, east of Ela and across from Vehe Farm and Deer Park village hall.
23625 W. Cuba Rd., looking SE. The farm was established around 1850. The main house (not shown, it is 500 ft. to the right) was built in 1936 and designed by architect Bertram A. Weber, who is noted for designing several buildings in the Loop and for the Columbian Exposition in 1893.
Wow Rico, you're the man! Lots of historical info.
Thanks Robert!
All buildings, except the barn have been torn down. A damned shame.
Including the main house by Bertram.
Hi Robert,
Do you have a personal connection to this property?
I do not, however I always admired the style of the main house and history. I'm surprised it was allowed to be demolished given its status. Had I known this was going to be the outcome, I would have purchased the property and restored the house and buildings.
