US Army Nike missile base C-84 on east side of Quentin Road north of Lake-Cook Road. Decommissioned in 1961. Was used as administrative storage by the Lake County government after decommissioning until site was torn down in the 2000s. Long buildings at right were barracks. Paved area toward the top was the missile launcher area. Gray rectangles were the elevators that raised missiles from underground storage. Shed in the top center of the photo was built over the third elevator as it leaked.
