This is Helgersen's Gas Station in Palatine IL. On the west side of Rt. 12 just south of Lake Cook Road. I believe it closed in the late 80's. the Helgersen family lived in the neighborhood on the southeast corner of Quentin and Lake Cook, there is a street in their name. The building still stands, it has been one car lot after another.
