Downtown Middletown, Illinois. 6th Street, has the line of bars and diners. Clinton Street, has a couple more. Where the water tower is located, is the Middletown Park. Surprisingly, the buildings survive, but most are vacant. The bar in the NW corner of 6th and Clinton is, today, still a bar! Looking NW.
