I have lived on this farm since 1977, for 43 years. My husband & I had been married for less than a year when we got the opportunity to tenant farm for Richard Reising. He had a small herd of cattle that needed tending. The year they opened interstate 72 the cattle got out & onto the interstate, they went all the way to Illiopolis. The next day the cattle went to the sale barn. We loved this place & needed a way to “keep our foot in the door”. We had received 1000 pine seedling as a wedding present from Frank & Marge Evans who ran Four E’s Trees in Mt. Zion. So, we took the idea of a tree farm to Mr. Reising, your land & our trees. We started a partnership & Greentree Christmas Tree Farm had it’s start. We closed the tree farm in 2013 when my husband, Ron Trump passed away.
