2 brick bldgs in center were the South Elementary School (the High School before that). The church to the left-Emmanuel Baptist and the church in front-United Methodist, 1st South and South Broad Streets, Carlinville, IL
The South school is now apartments.
The small house on the same block as South School was our library and the rooms were full of shelves with childrens books. Miss Karlowski was the librarian I think
Yes goos ole south school. You are right Penny House Wilson. What is missing are 3 homes that were on the empty lot to the right of the north building. ( right side of picture) they were moved some time after 1963. One to south plum , one to South West Street, and the third one I am not sure.
