The large building near the center of the photo is what is known today as the Old Bank Building. The building was completed in 1908 and it had a bank on the lower left side. A general grocery store on the right side, upstairs on the left was the masonic lodge and on the right was a theater for plays. Also in the back on the left was the post office. Roy Roher Close bought the building for a total of $2000 in the 1940s. The bank had closed its doors at the beginning of the great depression. The Closes owned the store up until 2015. Now it is owned by the township. In the 1950s the downstairs left side was made into a GE appliance store. The right side became a storage area and workshop and the upstairs was converted into an apartment. There is also a basement that was used for storage and some other forms of machining. For pictures of the interior one can view at the facebook page The Old Bank Building. At one time I lived in the apartment in the top left side.
