This was my GrandParents farm between Gridley and El Paso . It is located on the first gravel road north of Rte 24, east of Enright on the south side of road. They were Thomas and Ida Reeves. Their children were Monica, Mary, Thomas ( Jerome), Betty, Robert ( my dad) and Paul. I often stayed at the farm for weekends and one summer. There used to be an Osage Orange hedgerow along the western boundary β seems to be gone here.
I was there when grandpa burned down the crib on the south end of property. I remember my dad and his brothers installing the machine shed east of the barn.
There is a tiny garage at end of drive and a chicken house east of that. Grandpaβs brother lived just across the road β Joe and Ida Mae Reeves in the old family place (see the trees at bottom of photo).
Hi Roger,
Thank you for telling us the history of the property! Is the property still in the family?
No.. grandparents and all kids are gone ..
