Photo 83-FML-27

We purchased this homestead site in1987 and my dad built our new home. The original home was built in 1846 on a foundation of stacked rocks. There were two bedrooms upstairs with sloped ceilings. The trees in the center were gone before we owned the property, the corn crib had only the half shed remaining, the hog shed (upper right) was falling down, the chicken house (center) was leaning and we gave it a new foundation, the garage was moved in front of the machine shed and elevated for a 3 stall stable and the cob house by the center trees (not seen) was moved and put on a slab for the garden shed. The hedge rows are still here.
