El Paso Elevator Company, at Enright. An elevator existed at this location going back as early as 1901, based on a brief mention in The Grain Dealers Journal. A 1908 court case mentioned the elevator as having a storage capacity of about 45,000 bushels (neighboring landowner's two cows were killed by a train; farmer sued, long story...Google Books is awesome). After 1980, newspapers no longer mentioned the elevator and aerial photos from 1983 show the elevator gone.
Looking northwest at the El Paso Elevator Co., Enright, Illinois. The road is McLean County Road 1600E. The railroad is the Toledo, Peoria and Western. Youβre just north of U.S. 24, which is seen in the foreground, and east of El Paso, Illinois.
