Pin location: 6525 Old State Route 3, Waterloo, Illinois 62298. Sometime between 2013 and 2023, everything except the barn was removed from this farmstead. The alignment of State Route 3 was changed in the early 1960s to reduce the sharpness of the curve seen at the left side of this photo. Note the overgrown Illinois Central RR tracks in the background. In 1870s, this line was built by the Cairo and St. Louis Railroad and from 1886 to 1972, it was operated by the Gulf, Mobile & Ohio (G.M.&O.) Railroad. Service on the line discontinued in 1985, with abandonment and dismantling taking place in 1986. View looks WSW.
