This is 13747 E Montague. I don’t know who lives here now, but the farm was first built by the Bridgland family. 4901 Hoisington was also built by them, in the early 1900s. This farm was made in the mid-1800s, and the house has been up since at least 1871 (there’s an atlas compilation in the Winnebago Public Library including a map of Seward Township, and it has multiple hand-drawn illustrations of prominent properties during that time, including the Bridgland farm, in which the house looks identical to how it does today). Every building east of the barn is gone now, except the northernmost one. The silo is also gone, as well as many trees.
Hi JT,
Thank you for telling us the history of the property! Do you know what kind of farm they ran?
They did dairy on 4901 Hoisington, I would assume they did the same here, but I’m not sure. They also did crops. I don’t know anything else about what they farmed
