I grew up in this home, it's the only home I remember in my childhood. My family moved to mo. When I was 15, I have been looking for a picture of this home for a long time. I have always missed my home my whole life. The home is not there now, it was burnt down and made into corn fields. I'm so happy too see this picture.
Hi Kim, thank you for sharing your memories with us. It's amazing how much one childhood home can mean to us! Can you tell me more about what it was like growing up in rural Illinois? Do you have any other memories that stand out to you from that time? -Alexis.
There was mom and Dad and six of us children, 5 girls one boy. I cant say that our family life was the greatest but the farm ment alot to us children. We loved to play in the barns and cornfields. I think that helped take our minds off alot of things. Us kids were so sad to leave that place and I've thought about it my whole life. When we did go back and visit it it was falling down. Then we went back again several years later and they were burning it down. Very sad visit for us. I went to school in Stillman valley up to the 9th grade, I had too leave all my wonderful friends. There was also a ghost in our home that I think watched over us, we were never really scared of him, but he was always around.
I remember the ghost. I found you on the steps crying one night and he was sitting next to you with his arm around you. I just turned around and went back to bed. I loved those barns, we had so much fun playing in them.
Yes kelly the farm was great memories for me
