This is in Mapleton, along the Illinois River. Opened as an Archer Daniels Midland chemical plant in August, 1963 (note the "ADM" on the water tower) it has transferred hands over the years (Ashland Chemical, Sherex, Witco, Goldschmidt). Many of the structures remain today as part of the specialty chemicals company called Evonik
