My grandparents, Max and Eva Lebel, owned this farm about 2 miles east of Auburn, Illinois. It was sold out of the family around 1990, but decades later it remains my favorite piece of ground on Earth. My five siblings and I used to come to "the farm" every Sunday afternoon and play in the pasture, skate on the creek, catch tadpoles, and simply enjoy nature. It was a magical place back in the 1960s and 1970s. For stories of this farm, see "On Grandpa's Farm" and "The Great Cow Chase" and "Christmas Eve in Grandpa's Pasture" on my website:www.thehidingplaceofthunder.com.
