Glasgow Illinois

Downtown Glasgow. McEvers store at top left, across the road, Harve Mosley's place with a car and grain truck in front of it, and the little white building was the Post office. The store served as a gathering spot for all the kids to catch the bus to school. Post closed about 1965. The Mosely building was actually a broom factory that closed in the early 1950's. kids hung around there all summer and in the school yard, the left hand side of the picture, was a make shift soft ball diamond where kids played in the summer evenings and had burgoo every Labor Day. Mom still lives in town.
