Skate-A-Rama

Harlan "Dude" and Margaret "Honey" Dulaney built Skate-A-Rama as they were leaving Skateland in Belleville behind. Dude passed a while ago, but Honey still lives in Fairview Heights.

Margaret got the nickname "Honey" when all the kids started calling her Honey, after hearing Dude call her Honey.

I spent so many of my teen years at this place. I got to take my kids there once before it was turned into a mattress store. I remember Dude and Honey very well. They were so nice to us little hooligans!

Notice Motomart right next door and still there as of this date

My parents lived across the street on North Illinois.
When I was first married my wife, Carol and I lived in the little house behind the MOTO station..

The Street across from the Skate A Rama sign was called Estelle Lane. I lived at number 42 I believe it's the Kohls building now.

I spent many a Summer day playing in those apple orchards behind Moto and the skating rink. We also made hundreds of laps around the Farmers field on mini bikes and go carts.
