Lick Prairie Christian Church

My Grandparents Raymond and Lucille Groff went to church here since I was just a baby. My Parents Larry and Merlyn Groff were married in this church, and I was also married in this church. We ate many dinners here in the basement. Brought our own picnic baskets with our own dishes and the church also supplied their dishes and silverware as well. We also had many church Anniversaries with special music from church members. I really miss when us 6 kids went to church with our Grandparents. We all used that outhouse so many times and had to use a stick to clear the cobwebs. Haha and my children and grandchildren also had the privilege of going to Lick Prairie Church. Bailey Pearson kept the church going until Steve Williamson came along and is now the present pastor. I've had many memories here along with a lot of changes such as losing members as they grew old, building on and a bathroom of course! Haha. My dad and some other church members started the yearly chowders that are still going on to this day. He donated his chowder pot a few years before he passed away. Our whole Groff Family are buried in the Lick Praire Cemetery, where I will also be buried someday. It is such an awesome country church full of Great people and lots of love!!! I am so proud to say that I was a part of this historical Church.

My parents Raymond and Lucille Groff always made sure that we were in church. These photos brought tears to my eyes. So many, many wonderful memories and also sad ones. My parents, brothers and sister in law are buried in lick Prairie cemetery.
