The old Treasure Island trailer park. Northwest corner of Rt 6 and I 55 Channahon
Looking west-northwest at the Treasure Island trailer park, and both a Shell and Standard service station, located at the interchange of Interstate Highway 55-U. S. Route 66 and U. S. Route 6, Channahon, Illinois. The trailer park, and Shell station, today, are the home of a Thornton's station and store, while the Standard station, today, is a joint BP-McDonald's.
My Grandfather, Francis C. Moss was the owner of Treasure Island Trailor Park. He was a pharmacist and owned Moss Drugs in Joliet, Illinois and enlarged to add a Trailor Park, rental homes, and more at the intersection of routes 6 and 66.
