I grew up on this farm from June 29, 1979 to June 95. 19635 Sharp Road, Elwood. My Grandfather, Kelso Balentine Sharp owned the farm. When he passed away from hyperglycemia secondary to Alzhiemers, the farm was divided. My Uncle owns the buildings and some of it. Charles Sharp owns some of it. My father David sold his share. There is talk of an energy farm being placed on part of it. I know some section 8 housing was built on some of it. And another road connecting Sharp Road and Millsdale Road was placed. There are trees in front that were planted before my Grandmother, Glenna Jean,, passed away. Frank still lives on the farm, it has a large pole barn on it. Some of the older buildings/barns blew down. The milk shed had a fire in the 80s. There was a double wide on the property for a short time in the 80s and 90s. The property has a ton of scrap on it now. The work shop was used to build and race stock cars in the 80s through the early 00s. The railroad tracks shut down, closing Brandon Road, and the center point project were all reasons my family left the farm. We also had to take care my Grandfather for years when he couldn’t live by himself. So he moved in with us at 903 Colonade rd. Shorewood. I left for the Navy December 5, 1996 and retired February 1, 2021 as a LCDR in the Nurse Corps. I reside in Shorewood currently. My mother Jennifer, brothers Dave and Spencer live in Florida. My sister Melissa lives in Arizona.
