In the 1960s and 1970s, single engine airplanes were affordable and flying farmers were a thing. This pilot had landing strips going both north/south (shown here) and a longer east/west strip (out of sight) which ran adjacent to what is now the Naperbrook Golf Course. Farming was tough in the 1980s, and there's no evidence of a landing strip in those years. Housing development showed up in the mid 1990s, and these buildings disappeared.
