This farm sat at the southwest corner of today's Book Road and Conan Doyle Road. Historically one of several Stark farms in the area and later belonging to Westphal and Kemmerer according to old plat maps that can be found in the Will County Land Use 2000 survey. I remember a little bit of this farm but what I remember most was another structure not pictured which had to have been built no more than 3 years later just to the south. I believe the building was called The Kelly or Keller property. The Keller family lived in this area but I think it actually might have been Kelly, not sure what the significance of that name is. There was a brown sign with white letters reading so, similar sign to other park related signs in the area that still stand. I believe the building was used as a maintenance facility for the park district. Or as a park district or township office. Hopefully not a figment of my imagination looking back but I believe it had a deck and stairs leading up. The farm structures were tore down some time between 1998-2002. While the structure from the 1980s was tore down some time between 2002-2004. I remember being a kid and riding to the dentist or somewhere and seeing a crowd of people standing across the street looking at the property. On the way home a few hours later the building was gone. A few old trees still stand. A new park district maintenance facility stands in its place built around 2006 or 2007.
