This area was originally called Pinch Tight prior to Reno Droit building the Droit General Store (far left) and helping the local folks through the Great Depression by giving them trades and credit on food and supplys like tires. There was a Creamery and an Ice House and the Malone's lived across the road, and Reno (my Grandfather) built the house next to the store.
They Re-named the village from Pinch Tight to Droit City in honor of the Droit Family, who were pillars of the community, sponsoring the local little league, cafe and general store owners who also played music and sang at the local Dillingham Methodist Church, Reno is buried in West End, Illinois
