Thomas and Julia Throgmorten Estate. This home was a replica of the home that was struck by lighting Memorial Day Weekend 1981, when the Tornado hit Marion, Illinois, burning it to the ground. The home was rebuilt. The week of July 5, 2020, after the settlement of the Estate, this stately mansion was torn down by the heirs. This Estate was known for the gathering of the Sunday Fox Hunts that took place during the Fall. The structure near the bottom was the air conditioned Fox Hound Dog House where several dozen hounds were kenneled. The farm was home to champion race horses that toured the circuit. WinnStar, Inc., Corporate Offices, founded by Thomas & Julia, is still onsite here.
