6-24-1960, Friday: My wife Martha, daughter Virginia Lynn and I, Jerry McGowan visited Uncle Frank and Aunt Selma Behrman. The night before we visited there was a tremendous thunderstorm and when we got there to visit, their electricity was off. The repairman came and restored their electrical power. I remember that they had wheat in their immediate area and that they had strawberries growing close to their home. I took Uncle Frank and Aunt Selma and we tried to go to the United Methodist Church and Cemetery so that I could visit my grandmother, Edith Marie (Behrman) Schmidt's grave and the grave of my great grandfather and great grandmother too BUT the roads was flooded and we could not find a way to get there. Water was coming into the floorboards of my 1955 Plymouth station wagon and we had to back out. We visited their daughter, Marjorie while we were out. We stayed with Melvin and Glee two nights and days. We met with all of the children of Uncle Frank and Aunt Selma. It was a Wonderful Visit with my relatives who live so far from my home that we don't get to visit that often. Well, I did get to see my grandmother Edith Marie (Behrman) Schmidt's grave and the others also BUT it was about 40 years later that my wife and I got to visit our Behrman relatives in and near Columbus, Indiana.
