This is where I grew up!! R R #1, Forest, In. I have a later picture from after we moved from here that I purchased but was living here at the time this was taken if it was 65. The house, barns and everything is gone!! It was sold and the new buyer took everything down!! Broke my heart!! The house had a doorknob inside with a patent date of 1861. The brick walls were two feet thick. It had a coal furnace when we moved there, later changed to oil. So many wonderful memories from here!

I stood in the back yard next to my Dad while we watched the Palm Sunday tornado come from the west moving northeast and it took Russiaville off the map! It hit West Middleton, Alto, Kokomo, Greentown, part of highway 26, etc. Devastation everywhere. A classmate of mine lived on highway 29 and they were all in the basement. They survived but every building including the fence was totally gone!!
