This was the Tom and Dot Drive-In on the east side of Akron. The business is long gone, but the sign and building are there, and the property is filled with junk now. I drive by it often, and never knew it looked this nice at one time.

Well it looks nothing like that now. I remember back in the 70s my girlfriend and I with her parents made many Friday evening trips to Tom and Dot Drive In. The prices were ridiculous low even for that time, the hot dogs, Spanish dogs, cheeseburgers and fries always hot and fresh served by a car hop. It now looks like a salvage yard, however the Tom and Dot Drive In sign is still up and clearly visible to read. It’s located on SR 14 just East of SR 19 on the Eastside of Akron.
