4690 E County Road 450 N
Danville, IN, 46122
(In actuality closer to Pittsboro and Brownsburg)
The vergeboard and pointed windows seen in this photo - both gone today - are Gothic Revival details that date this house to around 1860. The county has a build date listed of 1853, which could be correct but there is no documentary evidence to confirm this. Interestingly, this house was missed on the 1989 IHSSI survey done in Indiana.
Research into historic atlases and local records indicate that this was the home and farm of John Caywood (1818-1894) and Elizabeth Parker Caywood (1830-1905).
