This was the LeRoy (pronounced la ROI, not LEE-roy) farmstead. My grandfather, Raymond LeRoy, and my father, Rodney LeRoy, established and worked one of the largest beef cattle farms in the county, if not the state. Aside from raising beef, they also had a multi-million dollar operation for peat moss, grain, and silage and hay. There is some controversy in the history as there were some rival farms and bad business deals, but I do know the LeRoy Farms was quite renown. There were still faint lettering on the silos of L-E-R-O-Y in 2005.
