I spent many a time there as a young boy with my parents and then after getting my driver's license cruising around the Frostop during my high school years. The Frostop had great food and great "car-hops". Will always be a fond memory of my growing up in Petersburg, Indiana.
I do remember this place in Petersburg, Indiana!
I used to hang out at the Frostop back in the 50s and 60s. I remember it well. Cruised between there, around Pete's Drive-in and on to Don's on the other end of town. Some of the best times of my life.
Cherry cokes on a hot summer day. The good ole days
A treat to stop there when we went "went into town". It is now an RV sales lot
I worked as a carhop the summers of 1959 -1961. We were paid 35 cents an hour plus tips! Most tips were a nickel or dime and many did not leave any tip at all. Root beer mugs were 5 and 10 cents my first year and were frosted. Sally Colvin was the owner.
I worked there in the 70's, so did my grandma, sister & cousin. George McClellan owned it then.
I used to work at the Frostop when I was in high school, maybe from 1984-87. Loved working there!
