This farm was owned by Fred Larsen Beck; home was built in 1916. He lived in the home until 1959 when the farm was sold and left the family. In December 2015 the acreage was purchased by Beck Benton, great-great grandson of Fred Beck.

This farm is also my great grandfather's. Freddy L. Beck was father to my grandmother Marina Beck / (Petersen).

Was farming a significant part of your family's heritage? What crops or livestock did they focus on during the late 70s?

Yes most of my family history was farming. My mother (parents Harvey& Marina Petersen) farmed northwest of Exira. My father was from Audubon. His family farmed north of Audubon. That would be my great grand parents Christian & Hattie Krauel. My grand uncle Nels Beck (Marina's brother farmed near Exira and was the Audubon County Assessor for 30 some years.
