Trpkosh farm in Ely.

some of my best childhood memories (and worst too) took place on what was then the Trpkosh property. The Barn - love the barn, playing in the hay, jumping from the lofts, finding baby bunnies and, of course, playing hide and seek. Loved picking and eating the Concord grapes, hanging out on the sleeping porch. One late night while babysitting, which I did at least three nights/week, I would have bet money that I heard footsteps going from the split staircase into the kitchen. Since both the kids were in the living room with me, my eyes were as big as they'd stretch and my heart raced faster than after cardio at the gym. That memory is so vivid. . . one of the scariest moments of my life. Another night while babysitting, the youngest child lit the family room curtains on fire. . .! Love those kids, love the house, and loved growing up in Ely, Iowa!!
