bought this farm in 1973. All the buildings are replaced, except the barn, it was added to. All of the trees have been replaced. In 2006 the house was moved about 3 miles, a new one was built 15 ft. north (to the right) of the old
Hi Owen,
What was the reason for moving the house? What kind of farm do you have on this property?
The house was in need of a lot of repair. After evaluating the cost we decided on a new house. We sold the house for 1 dollar to be moved and site cleaned up, to a young couple with a growing family who needed more room. Been happy with the choice. In 1977 started building a family size hog operation. By 1980 producing 1900-2000 hd. farrow to finish. I got older and the children left the farm so we slowed production and finally quite around 2008. Around 2011, I took all the buildings down, they were as tired as me. I am 80 years old and still live on the farm. I lost my wife , Nov 2021 , after a 6 yr battle with MSA (Multiple Systems Atrophy). Sorry I get long winded.
