I grew up here. Dad still lives there today 3-28-16. The home was built in 1948 by my Grandparents. They made good money during WW2 on crops and livestock. Was built for $13,000. The hog lots are gone as pork prices fell in the late 90s. Dad still farms and has a cow herd. My brother farms close by. Dad will be 87 this year. This picture would have been different a year earlier in 79 as a F2-F3 tornado just missed the house and past through the left side of this picture taking the crib roof off and lots of damage throughout the neighborhood. Just a quarter mile to the left (south) it took the Lovitt home killing Helen. We were spared. A lot has changed in 36 years.
