When I was born in Iowa in 1961, I came home as a baby to this farm which was my Grandparents . There's too much that has changed with this photo and it's heartbreaking the farmstead isn't there anymore .

Continued from my previous comment 12/9/2021 My Grandfather built the home on this farmstead here in the picture (John T. Hilbert Farm) My grandparents farmstead here in the photo was my favorite place in the entire world, it helped mold me into the person I am today, I have the fondest memories here , spent every summer there as a child, until after my parents divorced about the year this photo was taken in. I got to spend just a couple more summers there after that life changing event and then that was it. My Grandparents retired not too long after that and left the area. The last time I saw it was in 1993 during my visit to Traer, but the farmstead had abandoned buildings, the barn, all the old trees were there still and the remains of the house my Grandpa built. This place is etched in my heart forever along with my beloved Grandparents lived here .
