1502-245th Street, New Market, IA 51646
The farm of my grandparents, Gordon H. & Dolores O. Cox.
Now belongs to my cousins.
I would have been 4 years old if this was taken 34 years ago but I believe it is older as the barn hadn' dozed yet.
This is my parent's farm that I grew up. The tornado hit the barn a day or so after my sister's 16th birthday in 1975. Tornados were popping up all over that day from south of Omaha, Ne. to Corning, Iowa, and back down to the New Market and Clarinda area. It took a year or more for Dad to get it dozed in as it was unstable and to get it burned.
The barn fell on March 29th, 1979 from the same tornado that Braddyville.
