My husband and I bought this beautiful place in 1992 and opened Vinland Valley Nursery here in 1998. We raised three girls who spent many happy days playing in the creek and throughout the grounds and who now spend happy days working the family business. The old walnut at the fork in the drive still produces despite its age and several storms that have knocked branches out. The crows wait for cars to crack the fallen walnuts open in late fall to eat the nuts. The young pin oaks in front of the house are now towering mature trees!

The garage, mobile home, galvanized grain bin, and (sadly) the big white barn were gone before we moved here. The house has been updated and a new garage stands where the old one was. The smaller old wooden barn and silo still stand!

Hi Amy E Albright! Thank you for sharing your wonderful memories of Vinland Valley Nursery. It sounds like the property has been a special place for your family. Do you have any favorite memories about raising your three daughters on the property? It sounds like you have done a lot of work on the property, any changes in the near future you are planning?
