This was my grandparents home and black Angus cattle farm. Two houses on the farm were destroyed in a tornado in 1971. Years after my grandparents had passed, the house burned, the land has been sold out of the family and has been bulldozed and fenced in. It was a big old house that always had a good breeze when the windows on the porches were open. There was a good big garden spot and an ever-flowing white sulphur water spring just outside the kitchen door. On Sunday afternoons, people would come from miles around and fill jugs with that icy cold water. Many games of Mother May I?,Simon Says, tag, and others were played under those big old shade trees. My cousins and I spent hours playing in the branch, building dams and catching crawdads. We would go under the bridge and cross the road and go further up the branch and swing out over the branch on grapevines.
