Podunk trading post

I believe this building is still standing although the roof has caved. As of Sept 2019, I drove to this spot because my great-grandmother was born on a farm to the left of this building in 1880. I would like to know when the name 'Podunk' came into being for this area. Green highway signs are labeled 'Podunk' just before and just after this intersection on Hwy 381 in Southern Graves County (south of Lynnville, KY)

Grew up here. I still live nearby. The store was open until sometime in the late 90s. Don't remember the exact date. Used to be a bustling place. I think the Podunk school building was still there in my mother's younger years.
