The tall, white building in the middle of the photo is the Cameron Parish Courthouse in Cameron, LA. This photo was taken prior to Hurricane Rita which destroyed many of the surrounding buildings. The Courthouse has withstood many hurricanes since the Art Deco structure was built under Teddy Roosevelt's presidency in 1937. Several new government buildings have been rebuilt around the Courthouse.
