Edwin Larrabee's place before his chicken houses.

The barn was torn down this year. Someone was killed when part of it collapsed.

My name is Amy Larrabee McElroy, I grew up here, with my two sisters Laurie Osgood and Lisa Ross. My father Edwin and my mother Romona raised beef cows and chickens that were processed by Penobscot Poultry in Belfast and when they went out of business he went with another company for a short time, until my mother passed away at a young age of 51 years old in Feb of 1995. My parents also worked for MSAD #3 ( Mount View High School) my father drove bus and my mother worked as a cook. My father shut down the farm when my mother passed away. It was a great life growing up on this farm, the shed that goes between the house and barn was torn down. the barn was built in the 1800's and was 5 floors counting the underground floor that opened out to the back side. All post and beam. They raised chickens there before they built (2) 3 story barns in the big barn and then used it for cows in the bottom floor.
