Esso Gas Station, Evergreen Point?

This is Ben's Esso located in Thurmont. Frederick Road runs left to right at the top and Rte 15 is seen at the bottom. This photo was taken while there was still a grade crossing at this location, bridge and ramps were added later. At the bottom right corner of the building, you can see the old ice house, there was crusher/blower that put ice into the old reefers before trailers were equipped with their own refrigeration systems. This is the back of Ben's, it was built facing Frederick Road at the top. Ben's is long gone.

Yes, Ben's Esso Station in Thurmont, MD. Long gone. Now at this location is the extended parking for Mountain Gate Restaurant and Woodsboro Bank. Mountain Gate now occupies the field to the left in this picture. Across the road is now the truck stop where you can find the 7/11, gas pumps, and Fratelli's Pizza.
