Located in section 17 of Royalton Township, Berrien County, Michigan at corner of Miners and Bacon School Road. On site of Bacon Schoolhouse present 1867-1892 (frame, burned 24 Dec 1892)(St. Joseph Traveler-Herald) and 1893-1969 (brick)(State of Michigan School Inspectors Reports). Duplex likely built by Burkett circa 1969-1970. In 1850s was a frame house with log barn on this corner, built by Charles Lienhart (Niles Republican, 1860 newspaper; 1860 Wall Map of Van Buren, Berrien and Cass Counties, Michigan). 1860 Wall Map avl. on US Library of Congress website.
